Isn't Davidry talking of a polyline? Polyline doesn't react to normal trim. So I tried with Tools - Polyline - Trim segments. No response either. But I remembered I once got it to work. With further trials I found out:
You can't just simply click somewhere on an entity, you need to use a snap, like on endpoint, or if you have snap on entity activated, it reacts like normal.
