Hello, My name is Dan, I am new to the LibreCad community but not foreign to CAD software. I started my journey of design and drafting back in high school with a mix of being on the boards and learning CADKey back then in the early/mid 90s. From there I went on to earn my associates degree in CAD and learned Autocad 2000 and Up, Solid Works, Mechanical Desktop, Autodesk Inventor, And Pads Logic/Power PCB. After that chapter I worked professionally with solid works for a year and then made a detour to architectural school. When I could not land a gig in an architectural firm I finally shifted and wrapped up my education in mechanical engineering.
To this day CAD programs are an integral part of my work flow. Autocad/Revit are the standards of the AEC industry. I recently have shifted my laptop over to Linux so deep diving into the realm of Librecad/Freecad/Blender and the work flow for these tools. One thing I realized with Librecad is that it does require thinking like a drafter putting the lines to the board.
One question I have, has anyone used Librecad in a P/FP or HVAC design application. Partlicularly for the production of mechanical ductwork plans/piping plans?
