Hi Armin,

finally time for my requote: your new DMG package works quite well on my Mac Air with M1 and Big Sur 11.2.3 (20D91)

Many thanks for your great support!

I was trying to install LibreCAD-2.2.0-rc2-BigSur.dmg on MacOS Big Sur 11.5 and i could not install it because the system was saying that "The developer can not be verified" and was asking to eject the disk image!.

This is because we have no maintainer with a payed Apple license to sign the DMG package.

I can't test it, but I found some links how to install unsigned packages on Mac OS:

Hopefully some of you are subscribed to this thread

We need some help again to test a new package.

I just created https://sourceforge.net/projects/librecad/files/OSX/2.2/experimental/
There is a macOS package, 2.2.0-rc3, which was built with GitHub Actions on Big Sur.
I could test this package on a High Sierra system, which is our oldest supported macOS, and it worked well.
So we need some more response, to ensure the Big Sur package will run on all supported macOS.
Then we can activate Actions for continuous macOS builds.

Many thanks

Hi, @LordOfBikes,

I successfully installed and opened 2.2.0-rc3-2-g63a35fa0 on MacOSx 11.6 intel i7.

I can open and work on some dwg and dxf files. (Some dwg files still not opened, but I think this is related to dwg file versions and classes)

Thanks

Many thanks for testing and reporting @savokov.

Indeed, DWG is another issue, it still has a bunch of unsupported entities and also latest versions, newer than 2017 are not supported by libdxfrw.
Important is, that these files don't crash LibreCAD.
This is one of the improvements in 2.2.0.

Re: LibreCAD & Mac BigSpur

I have installed LibreCAD 2.2.0 rc3 on a MacBook Pro M1 running OS 12.1. App starts and runs but after a few hours, I have noticed the following:

1. In dark mode the command prompts start white but change to dark blue rendering them unreadable

2. The tangent to two circles function does not select elements (works in 2.1.3 on same file)

3. The zoom in/out function on mouse gestures (Apple mouse) renders the app almost unusable (problem exists in 2.1.3 too). Need to add a feature to disable or at least reduce sensitivity.

Will continue to use 2.2.0 rc3 and post if I find additional.

John, have you been able to overcome this? Dark mode seems to be working well in LibreCAD 2.2.0.1 on macOS Sonoma 14.5 (23F79), but the blue command prompt is still unreadable.

Maybe this can be customized via Options → Widget Options → Style Sheet? But I don't know what to enter there to customize the color.

Thanks,
Tomek

P.S. Overall the LibreCAD experience on macOS has been perfect for a newbie like me! Warm thanks to everyone who made this possible. I can only imagine how much hard work went into this under the hood! 💪
