Align parts of a drawing

Hello everyone,

how can I align parts of a drawing?

Simple example:
Two rectangles of different sizes should be aligned horizontally on their left edge.
Theoretically, I would select the two rectangles and then click on an "Align"-button. This is how I know it from other graphics programs.
I can't find a way to do this in the menus of LibreCad.

I hope to have found the right subforum for my question.

Try Plugins - Align.

Many thanks for the quick response.

I create 2 rectangles, select them (left mouse button) and then click [Plugins]-[Align].

Nothing happens.
The rectangles are still selected.

Is my LC-Version perhaps not completely installed?
Where/how can I check if the alignment-plugin is installed?
And if not, where can I get it and how must it be installed.

By the way, I use Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS

Look at the status bar (bottom) or the command line: you are asked to define reference points. Press Align first, then select the entities, close selection with Enter. The command probably doesn't work exactly the way you expect but does it's purpose.

Yes - something is happening.
Not as I expected, but still.
Will play and learn a little with the plugin. If I don't get any further, I'll contact again.
