Am I cheating?

Would it be cheating to buy the manual from qcad and use it (for my own use at home) to apply to librecad?

Anthony interesting idea: use donation money (or have a donation
drive) to buy the source code to the qcad manual under and open source
license. That would be the starting point for the new help, or we can
continue building a new help.

Again I stress I am not suggesting any of it shold be published, but if I purchase it legally I am entitled to read it.

I recommend you do not buy, because is based in QCad3 and LibreCAD is forked from QCad2.
Instead I recommend to download this:
http://qcad.org/archives/qcad/qcad-manual-en-2.1.0.0-1.html.zip
