Autocad to librecad?

Fredevans
Hello Everyone-- I am an 80 year old busybody who messes around with tools and hobbies.
I had been using AutoCad for many years but have decided to get myself legal and am probably going to change to LibreCad. What is the general opinion of changing to LibreCad. ? Is it a painful learning curve or will my 80 year old brain be able to handle it without a complete burnout. To give a bit of background I started with computers in the 80's using a single floppy columbia and writing programs in Basica. thereafter I upgraded to Borland dBase 4 ver 2 and wrote quite a lot of code - but as things changed i didnt upgrade so now I think it is time to learn. hoping to be an asset to this forum- my best regards from south africa.
I would appreciate guideline on suggested reading matter to ease the pain of learning

Welcome! I think it's harder to 'unlearn' AutoCAD or any other you have used for a long time. But be open minded, there are many tutorials, links to them are at the top of the main page.

And if you get stuck, or need other help, this forum is the best place to ask.
