View settings out of whack?

woodbee
I am new to LibreCAD, after many years using AutoCAD.

Lines I have created appear to have infinite length-
I can zoom out to thousands of feet and the 96-inch lines just keep growing,
though the program lists their properties to match the parameters I'd specified;
have I unwittingly enabled some view setting for which I cannot even imagine a function?

Tanks for any interest in my issues!

Welcome woodbee!

See https://librecad.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ref/fundamentals.html?highlight=construction#construction-layers
investing less than half an hour into Search function can save hours or days of waiting for a solution

TANKS so much, LordOfBikes;
your solution was brilliant, taking me to the exact spot I needed to read and spurring me to a careful review of the Fundamentals section.

(My biggest challenge thus far is learning enough vocab;
my knowledge of AutoCAD jargon has not helped much,
but I am beginning to learn how to find my way around.

Enjoy,
