Cannot delete a block

Meok
Hi

I am fairly new to LC and am having a problem with blocks.
I created a new Block but afterwards realised it was no good.
I deleted it from my computer but it still appears in LC.
How do you get rid properly.
I am using V2.0.6-22 on Windows 7 64

Thanks in advance

I suppose you don't mean "blocks" by the meaning in Main menu: Block

If you mean a dxf file you created, and deleted later from your computer, you probably mean a numbered entry in Main menu: File, for "recent files".

There is no verification for those entries. therefore, even if you have removed the dxf file from file system, LibreCAD still lists it in "recent files".

We can add a verification for file existence for those recent file entries, and only add for existing ones.

Hi

No I mean I created a symbol, deleted it cos it was not that good, but it still appears in the Library Browser and can be selected and used even though it is no longer on my computer.

You probably have one dxf file left in part library folders.

1, the custom LibreCAD part folder by Main menu: Edit->Application Preferences->Paths->Part Libraries
2, the default LibreCAD part folders; (depends on OSs).

One way handle is by searching for the file name in your computer and removing them one by one.

Re: Cannot delete a block

Hi
Okay finally found what was happening.
I even uninstalled LC and the reinstalled and all was still the same,
I eventually found that several copies of filed are dotted all over Windows in Resource folders and they all need to be found if you need to delete these items.
Maybe this needs to be looked at, I don't know.

Thanks anyway

Meok,

was the block lingering around in your drawing, unexploded? you must explode the original creation to get rid of it I believe...

anyways, I don;t use the browser, I have a template with my blocks in it, and have a seperate directory called blocks, and just use file/import block to load others

hope all is well

Hi

No nothing hanging round, just Windows creating copies of folders in other parts of the computer.
Now I know this I can allow for it.
Though best take more care in future when making symbols up.

Thanks
