Chain Dimensioning

RP
I wonder what is the best practice when chain dimensioning. The goal is to keep dimension lines of the chain dimensions precisely in-line. Is there any other way how to assure that than using a grid snap mode? I would ideally like to snap a position of a subsequent dimension line to the preceding dimension line using one of snap modes (endpoints, entity, intersection, etc.) however none of the modes seem to work as if a dimension would not be a snap-able entity in Librecad.
The picture shows what I have in mind by chain dimensions. All of these dimension lines are precisely in-line.

No, there is no built in way to do this. A dimension indeed is not a snap-able entity in LibreCAD. You only can use grid snap or some self-made snap pattern on an extra layer.
I have experimented with a set of concentric circles which you can move around on the extra layer. Then hide the layer when not to be seen.

A case for issues / feature request on github.
