Change default dxf version to save to?

Is it possible to set the default save type to for example R12 instead of the current DXF2007?
I'm asking this because I have an old machine and it's software only understands this filetype, and it's becoming a bit cumbersome to always remember to click save as, then change the file type for every file.
I'm sorry if this is already answered, but I couldn't find any similar questions.
