Andrew,
apologies for the delay. But I am kinda guessing here you are looking for a 3D solution.
LibreCAD is a 2D drawing CAD system and we don’t have any intention to to go 3D.
A other option next to the great FreeCAD system is BRL-CAD.
If your intention is to use LibreCAD as a 2D drafting engine, please let me know.

Afternoon LibreCAD and LibreCAD users,
I'm Andrew from Libre3D. We've been into 3D printing since 2010 using the early Open Source Makerbots, Mendels, Bukobots, Type A Machines, and more. Also we've made some fun interview videos in the Netherlands with David from Ultimaker who developed Cura and Alessandro in Rome, Italy who developed Slic3r. Here are some links if interested :)

As we developed Libre3D over the years we're adding new functionality throughout the year. Last week we added the ability to upload SCAD files (Solid CAD) files that can render to STL. Cool things the community has asked for.
Now the real question :) ***Without stepping on toes*** - Should we begin to use FreeCAD or LibreCAD if we'd like to build a viewership for Open Source Modeling programs "today". LibreCAD looks very promising but we all know that usability and features in the early stages must be "easy" for non-hardcore users. I guess the simple question is "Should we start with FreeCAD then move over to LibreCAD at a certain date?" We are already familiarizing ourselves with FreeCAD before finding LibreCAD.
Any honest communication is appreciated. We really want to step forward correctly like all of us desire in the software user world. Having users dislike our choice would reflect badly on us and that goes down the line to people's opinions that "helped" us choose.
Thanks for this platform and thanks for you time. We'll support LibreCAD either way but want to start a video series in the near term :)
