Hello from New York

VinceWA2RSX
Hi/Ciao !

I am new to LibreCad.  Have played with Sketchup while it was available to me for free and took a look at FreeCad.  I find CAD software fascinating. 3D CAD might come later, but 2D is my goal for now.

My requirements are, I think, rather simple.  I like to model a 2D floor plan of my house and perhaps the landscaped areas also. Once I learn the basics, my first project will probably be to sketch a floor plan and map out the electrical wiring in this house.

My first question/request is:
I saw something/somewhere about learning files to be used with a tutorial for LibreCad, but now am unable to locate them.  Could someone please point me to the tutorial(s) that also have work-along files, to be downloaded, so that I may begin to learn how to use LibreCad.

I look forward to reading your reply.
Thanks for reading this.

I am presently working my way through by following info given at: https://wiki.librecad.org/index.php?title=Starting_to_draw .  Have made it to the "Drawing the support beams" section.

I found that I needed to figure out how to display the Command Line and the Layer List; apparently, I jumped in at a point beyond the point where instructions were given for displaying those Widgets. Or, such instructions were not included?

Thanks for reading this.

Note: Command Widget must be displayed (Widgets, Dock Widgets, Command Line).
The header on this forum main page or https://librecad.org/ has key links. For this type of query I'd recommend using the Manual.
