I'm totally newby, so I may commit mistake, but I can't understand what happens : in the current drawing, I create a new layer, view it and select it, then I try to import a dxf file : it comes into layer 0 !
Sometimes, after "I-can't-remember-what" operation, some entities can be visible only if two layers are visible : they desapear if either layer (or two) are not visible. Can anybody explain that (LibreCAD V2.0.0Beta1 Oct 29 2012) |

Hello Yves,
Not a bug. When you import a dxf into another dxf you are appended it as block (File->import->Block) and all imported entities maintain their properties (color, linetype, layer, etc.) The "two layers" case are related to Blocks and Inserts, and neither is a bug. To better understand the operation of blocks see these threads: http://forum.librecad.org/Block-can-not-be-inserted-on-different-layers-td5544026.html http://forum.librecad.org/How-could-I-fetch-the-block-and-entity-information-td5707314.html http://forum.librecad.org/How-to-change-the-color-of-an-existed-entity-td5707346.html |

Thank's Rallaz. It's very kind of you to answair so much basic and recurrent questions.
In fact, the most difficult thing to learn with a new program is it's ergonomy, and I have much trouble with it ! At the moment, I will try not to use blocks, that I do not understand enough. And I have other problems... At a moment, I had to draw a line "with two points" (a segment), and it worked well. Then I try again (in the meantime I went to some snap restrictions, but there are no more). I indicate the first point, then the second, and the machine draws the whole line ! I ask again my question : "Is there a bug ?" Thank's again. |

LibreCAD has bugs, of course, but you have not found none yet
![]() When you set a layer not printable (print icon in layer list) are converted as "auxiliary layer" and lines are drawn infinite. Check by click in "print icon" |

Arrhhh ! Of course, I don't think it's a bug... but I don't understand why some layers get unwillingly the "Help layer" attribute.
And I have a layer on which I imported a drawing (JPEG), and I copy some lines of the drawings as polylines on other layers. Sometimes, those "other layers" seem to be "under" the drawing, and so I can't see them (obviously, the corresponding layers are supposed to be visible, and I see them if I make the drawing layer invisible). Thanks for patience. |

Ok This at last found a bug... but late
![]() Seems you have foud the same bug as ePoxi user in this thead: http://forum.librecad.org/Lines-went-to-infinity-td5707037.html If it is the same, are solved, but you can wait for next windows relsease: beta2 or RC1 About using JPEG the layer order are not relevant on paint screen. You use "Edit->draw order" submenu to move image to bottom |

But I asked for two things : The question of draw order. I could'nt find again then phenomenon. At the first occasion, I'll test "Draw order" Thanks again and again. |

This post was updated on Apr 16, 2013; 10:20am.
Beta2 will be published shortly but there is no date yet.
You can use this file (only uncompress and use) http://sourceforge.net/projects/rallaz.u/files/librecad-win/librecad2.0.0beta1-git2013-04-16.7z/download About "Edit->draw order" is menu "Edit", submenu "draw order" then "move to bottom" the JPEG image |
