Hello. I am new to LibreCAD, and this forum as well, and have been reading through the user manual but haven't found an answer to (what I am sure is) a simple question.
I have a rather complex drawing I made in ACAD, and was able to do a DXFOUT, then subsequently import it into LibreCAD using the Import->block menu option.
The entire thing is a block, as expected, so I did an explode and that seemed to go as expected as in I can now edit individual entities, again as expected.
However, while the entities are different colors, it seems everything is on a single layer.
Question 1, when I import a block, can I ask for all the layers in the DXF file to be created? (There are many.) I was expecting all the layers to show up in the layers list.
Question 2, Is there a way to have all the individual entities be put on the layers they were on when in ACAD or must I move each entity onto it's proper layer manually. We are talking about thousands of entities.
Question 3, Do I need to make a paradigm shift in my thinking about layers?
Thanks, Mark.
