Layout and model in librecad

tekle_cad
Hi all,
I am wondering if there is a layout in librecad similar to autocad. I am new to librecad and I have not found so far. Can we prepare it when we are in the print preview?
I simply prepared my layout in the model space and wondering if I only draw my object within it.
I would appreciate sharing your experience and knowledge.

Thank you.

There is no layout mode in LibreCAD. Indeed you have to prepare it in model space.
Developers are thinking about adding this feature in the future, but don't expect it to happen soon.

Thank you very much Dellus. I actually prepared the layout in the model space but it was not convenient to prepare my drawing within it. I would love to hear from experienced on how you manage this (drawing and layout on the same space).

Thank you.

What was the difficulty for you?
Best first draw a frame in the desired sheet size. If the drawing is to be scaled, for example an archtectural drawing in 1:100, the frame and maybe titleblock have to be 100 times larger.
Now place your drawing content into this frame in live size.
In Print Preview mode set the desired scale. With frame and the set paper size being the same "Fit to page" or "Center to page" should automatically place the dawing correctly on the sheet. You also can drag the sheet with the mouse cursor to the desired position.
Then print from within Print Preview.

Thank you for your reply and for asking. To understand my challenge, I send you figures attached with this message.

As you can see in the first figure, it is the model space. There I prepared my layout of A2 size and the actual drawing in blue.
The second figure is the print preview. The layout is seen too small.
I hope this helps about my challenges.

I look forward to hearing again.

You have set the scale in Print Preview as 1:100.
As I said in my previous post the A2 layout template then has to be 100 times larger.
Make sure it is on an extra layer for not to interfere with the actual drawing. Then enlarge the layout template using Tools - Modify - Scale with a factor of 100.

In printing then it will be scaled down again together with the actual drawing.
