New from template path

If I click "New from template", the directory path is the last drawing I have opened. I then change the directory to the template directory and open a template. Then when I attempt to open an existing drawing, the path is the template directory. The path used for template seems to always be the same for the path for opening existing drawings.

I seem to have a valid path for Options->Application preferences->Paths->Template. Which is C:\Users\Jim\Documents\LibreCAD\Templates\empty.dxf  It loads that empty.dxf with a click on "New".

Is there a way to have LibreCAD go to the Options->Application preferences->Paths->Template path for templates and the current path for drawings? Kind of a lot of work to go back and forth.
