Set Engineering Scale of 1 inch = 50 feet

Irucka
Hi, I am using LibreCAD SCM Revision 2.0.9 and I have been unsuccessful at setting the scale for a drawing. I imported a .png image of a PDF scale drawing with a paper scale of 1 inch = 50 feet with a paper size of 34 inch width by 22 inch height. I see the useful reference for Common Drawing Scales at https://librecad.readthedocs.io/en/latest/appx/scales.html, but I don't see an option to set any of those scales in the LibreCAD version that I am currently using.

How can I set the scale of 1 inch = 50 feet? I have the units set as inch for both the Application and for the current drawing.

Thank you.

You have to get the scale to number. As i*m born and raised in a country with uses only metric system, can't calculate it for you, but I guess you could find online calculator inches to feet from the net.

1 inch = 50 feet makes 1:600. Just type this into the scale box in Print Preview and confirm with Enter.
Or is your question how to properly import a .png image from a pdf or a scan of a real paper plan?

I have a PDF of a scale drawing (at 1 inch = 50 feet) that I exported as a PNG using The GIMP. I imported the PNG image into LibreCAD so that I could create a 10 foot buffer around some objects on the scale drawing. I then wanted to calculate the buffer area.

Thus, I was trying to set the engineering scale at 1 inch = 50 feet & also set the dimensions of the page in LibreCAD.

Thank you.

Not quite clear if the problem is solved now. If not:
You have to know with what dpi value the png is exported from GIMP. 300 is a good choice. When then importing into LibreCAD set that at the Tool Options bar.

Best insert it at the lower left corner of the frame. Then scale it up 600x (from your 1 inch = 50 feet) with Scale. Up to V 2.1.3 there is a bug that it will seem to be disappeared afterwards, AutoZoom brings it back.
For further advice ask again if needed.
