Spacebar as Enter

Is there any way to set the "spacebar" as the "enter" key. I saw an old post on this forum about it, but it was from many years ago. Has this been addressed since then?

I don't know about others, but without this functionality, I cannot use this app at all (yes, I know it's free). There is no way people can transition over to this app from any Autodesk products. Of all the keys and commands, the "spacebar" as "enter" is probably the most used key when drafting -- It Follows Every Single Command. (Followed closely by "escape", and then, all the drawing commands.)

I hope this has a solution.

What is wrong with using the "Enter" key ?

@rolgiati totally agree. Still, I also agree that @Vidarr or any user should be able to assign commands to whatever keystrokes they like. No reason an enhancement request can't be made for user configurable command keystrokes to be made available as part of or like librecad.alias.

It's open source - you could always change the code and recompile it.

Edit: https://forum.librecad.org/Command-line-focus-tp5708099.html
"Also, is there a way to treat space as enter like in AutoCAD?"

Fair request.

Funny, reading through the documentation it sounds like space as enter is a done deal a long time ago, but it sure doesn't work for me on Mac.

From https://librecad.readthedocs.io/en/latest/guides/cmdline.html

Start typing any command, e.g. li, rect, etc. and then [Enter] or the [Space bar].
Press the [Space bar], type any command and then [Enter] or the [Space bar].
Press [Ctrl + M], any command and then [Enter] or the [Space bar].
Press [Shift], any command and then [Enter] or the [Space bar].
Press [F1], any command and then [Enter] or the [Space bar].
With the Keycode Mode on, type a two letter command, e.g. li, ci. Pressing [Enter] is not required.
So what gives? Did this get taken out again?

EDIT: OK, I see that even though I just downloaded it, it's an older release: 2.1.3 from 2016. Seems to be the latest DMG. I guess I have to figure out how to compile 2.2.0.

YES!!!  It installed properly, and the space bar works. SO HAPPY.

People who haven't used Autodesk products for a long time aren't going to understand the importance of the space bar.
