Text and MText - No Dock or Widget Icon or Button

Tango
Here's my version information:

Version: 2.1.0-alpha
Commit: 984f36c
Compiler: Clang 7.3.0
Compiled on: May 10 2016
Qt Version: 5.6.0
Boost Version: 1.60.0

I may be mis-remembering, but I thought I remembered, in an early alpha version, there was an icon on a dock or tool bar, or somewhere, for text (or was it mtext?).  But now, after searching the docks and widgets, I can't find a quick one-click icon or button anywhere that will let me click on it to create text.  I have to go through the Tools menu.

Is there an icon or button I can use for entering text, or do I have to pick Text and MText in the Tools menu?

Read about creating custom widgets... you won't regret it. :D

Thanks - yes, custom widgets sounds great and I'll be checking into the new versions later tonight or tomorrow.  (There's a thunderstorm now - can't even play with LibreCAD itself!)
