Unicode characters errors

I am trying to insert greek symbols on labels from MText on my iMac.
The Unicode pages and their corresponding charsets are available on the MText dialog box and inserted in its text box.
But on the drawing they appear as diamond shapes (rhombi) regardless the Unicode char I select.
The LibreCAD fonts directory contains a huge collection of lff fonts including several greek fonts.
Any ideas?

Same thing here, running LC 2.1.0 and LC 2.1.3 on Ubuntu 14.10. For example the diameter symbol (Unicode [001F] on page [0000-007F]) turns up as a small diamond both in the drawing editor and the print preview/print-out.

I've never looked at that code,
but it seems like the diamond means
the font you have selected doesn't support that symbol.

The 'unicode' font supports the diameter symbol.

iso3098 seems to support some Greek...
I can't explain why the greek fonts don't work.
