Hello, nice to meet you.
You can find a brief description of Draft Mode in the manual here:
https://docs.librecad.org/en/latest/ref/menu.html#viewAnd FAQ
https://dokuwiki.librecad.org/doku.php/usage:faq#drawing_issuesI was not even born yet when you began using CAD in industrial settings for economic activity, but it seems that we joined this forum around the same time, and perhaps we share the common experience of encountering Draft Mode for the first time.
From this article:

I learned that computers from the 1980s to the early 2000s had relatively low hardware performance compared to today’s machines, and that developers created Draft Mode because it was needed back then.
I myself have no direct or indirect experience with CAD programs or the hardware that could run them during that era. And now, when even elementary school students can run 3D games on the PCs they use at school or at home, I’m still unsure whether this Draft Mode function is truly necessary.
I’m curious whether, from your CAD work experience 30–40 years ago, you found Draft Mode necessary or had any experiences with it.
