dimensions

I am a newb to drafting period, and I guarantee this won't be my last question. When I make a drawing and dimension it the numbers are not even close to correct (ex. actual dimension is 22.375" dimension line shows .088.). I have to be missing a preference option but I can't figure it out.

22.375 divided by .088 gives 254.26... This points to a metrics vs inches problem. As LC originally is an European development imperial units are sometimes problematic. More details of your settings needed.

Under OPTIONS : CURRENT DRAWING PREFERENCES : DIMENSIONS :LENGTH FACTOR. If that number is anything other than 1 LibreCAD will scale the drawing by that factor when dimensioning your drawing.  Likewise, if you're using different units and grid settings than what you think, you may get an unexpected number when dimensioning.  ie You set the grid to be .125" spacing but then you draw as if 10 grid units is 1".
