hatch will not Scale

Hatch will not let you Chang Scale when you change the scale it just disappears if you try to enter points whatever ex 0.75

Is there recent documentation of how to do hatching. Sometimes I get it to work, sometimes it does not. It would be nice to have a clear explanation. For some reason, the one provided do not scale properly. I'm using them with Inches and feet, is that the problem?
Clearly there or something I'm missing.
