Yesterday I downloaded librecad on a mac mini with OS X 10.10.5.  I can draw simple objects but when I try to modify them i'm asked to select an entity but when do I get the message"no entity found".  I tried the same commands on a windows pc with good results.

For Mac, all installers before 2.0.8 have packaging problems.

Please try the 2.0.8 https://github.com/LibreCAD/LibreCAD/releases/tag/2.0.8

I expect it run normally there for OSX 10.8 - 10.10, but if you continue to experience stability trouble, please install librecad by MacPorts:
