Is there any reason to keep the 1.0.0-Snapshot, quadratic and translation branches?

1.0.0-Snapshot is for the legacy 1.0 release, so let's keep it.

I will remove my leftovers :)

The latest commit is 9a2ab4b on Dec 15, 2013.

was tagged on Sep 28, 2013,
but the latest commit is a81bbd4 on Jul 16, 2013

It seems like the name 1.0.0-Snapshot is misleading,
or the repository's early tags are.
