printed line width is way too small

pkcad
I found this question has been asked before, but it still can't find a decent solution.
The default line width works perfeclty on my computer screen.
All lines and dimensions can clearly be read and don't get bulky when I zoom in.
Alas, when I print the sheet, the lines come out way too thin and are hardly readable.
If I set a line width in librecad, the lines on the screen become unnecessarily fat and especially dimensions and outlines appear bulky.
Is there a way to set a separate minimum width for printed lines?
This would be really helpful.

No, there is no way to set a separate minimum width for printed lines.
Too fat lines could only be a problem when drawing very small objects. You can use a very thin line width down to 0.05mm, isn't that enough?
Print scale also matters, maybe you have set "Apply Print Scale to line width" in Print Preview, take it out.

I am on 2.2.0.2 and I don't  see any "Apply Print Scale to line width" in Print Preview.
I have set the line width in my drawing from default to 0.05mm and the print-out is still bad.
If I set the line width to 0.13mm the drawing becomes ugly and unnecessarily bulky.
Currently my only solution is to modify all lines before printing and then reverting, which is a very cumbersome process.

crisp default line width:

ugly 0.13mm line width:

print preview with 0.05mm line width:

print-out with 0.05mm line width  on my laserprinter:

As it seems your printscale is to be 1:1 "Apply Print Scale to line width" is pobably not the issue.

You can switch to "Draft" mode for drawing. All lines will be shown then as hairline whatever the line width is set. But also hatches are omitted then and text (also in dimensions) simplified to boxes. The purpose is to speed up screen rendering.

There have been feature requests to introduce the possibilty to toggle on/off linewidth presentation in drawing mode. But it has not become true yet.

My print scale is not 1:1 but 3.8:1 and draft mode is not a good option, as it hides the dimensions by default.

I modified all lines from the default to 0.05mm and set the "apply print scale" mode, which at least gave an acceptable result.
Thanks for pointing me to that feature.
