I do not know great as it runs Ubuntu so I do not think I am the most suitable to help.

gcc ? is a compiler and not needed for LC

using instruction from http://librecad.org/cms/home/installation/linux.html
You first install the old LibreCAD (v 1.0.1) then
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:librecad-dev/librecad-daily
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

Note: seems that "apt-get build-dep" is for install dependencies for BUILD LC, therefore has installed the compiler
