Actually you do not have to do ALL the steps I told you. It should be enought to open a file with librecad and use bt (with current versions of librecad and libdxfrw).
This should be enough for the first step.
Could you please use http://forum.librecad.org/file/n5708482/mechtute4.dxf for opening (so you and I have the same file).
