Thank you for your response and I apologise for any inconvenience. I have now located another “freeby” package that I probably run with.
With best regards
Tim
Do you mean you cannot select an oblique line in my step 3?
Yes
This is unusual.
Does it happen to a particular drawing or for a new drawing from scratch?
For a new drawing from scratch, because I usually “start again” when the system seems to fail.
Is this a weird bug happens happen to a particular platform? What's your platform? Did you test this issue on other computers?
I only have a Toshiba (3yo?) 64 bit Windows 10
Another thought, "draw parallel" can be done alternatively:
I shouldn’t have to do this.
1. "Copy/Paste": Select entity, Ctl-C/Ctl-V, following the mouse tips to select reference points;
2. Modify -> "Copy/Move"
3. If for straight lines: Modify -> Mirror
4. or fancy: using two rotation to get a move: for example:
rotate around 0, 0 for 60 deg
rotate around 10<60 for -60 deg
and after these two steps, the line is moved by 10<120

Tried all that – only works on horizontal lines As with “parallel”. In both cases the obliquely drawn line does not appear to be selected. Is there a protocol that I am missing?
