Apologies for the late reply.
So I tried this today and I still can't seem to get LibreCAD to recognize the intersections of two ellipses in every case.
I've tried using the latest stable release, and also 2.2.2.3-alpha.
In truth, I can't be sure the fix actually in either of these builds; I don't fully understand how the versioning system works so it's possible the fix is contained within an older version for which only the source code is now hosted on GitHub (i.e it wasn't carried forward).
If my understanding is correct, you say the fix doesn't apply to hyperbolas and parabolas; I found this
StackExchange post which seems to suggest an ellipse is a kind of parabola, but in practice it is not?
Anyway, I've included a link to the .dxf file I'm working with - I'm trying to divide the lower ellipse at the intersection of the two.
There is a bit more required reading needed to understand the problem than I'm able to do in this moment, but perhaps there is something more elementary that I've misunderstood?
vvv the .dxf file vvv
