Librecad does not save document, does not recognise its own document

I have been meticulously saving my work. Today I opened the file. The drawing presented was from several sessions ago and was incorrect. It had exactly the same title and a search for the title yielded no other file by that name. An attempt to open the document from the documents folder with librecad closed did not recognise librecad as the author of the drawing and the drawing would not open in librecad.

What is your LibreCAD version and what's your operating system?

^{investing less than half an hour into Search function can save hours or days of waiting for a solution}

MAC 10.9.2

LIbreCAD has no version number in info. It says Created by Qt/Qmake
