tool descriptions

We need someone to write a simple list of drawing/modify tool descriptions.
In other words, we need answers to the question "What does this tool do?"
This will be used in LibreCAD, so we don't need procedure information.

Less is more at this stage.
We don't need anything fancy... a lack of formatting / style is preferred.
Let us know if you are interested.

Example:

Yes just like that. But don't worry about adding icons or images;
we need it as a plain text document, not a PDF file.
Otherwise all the work will need to be done twice.
The GUI has already changed a lot from 2.0.9, including some of the icons.

Your version comes later, and needs to be written on our new wiki, using wiki markup.
That is when including the images and extra information will happen.
The wiki article can then be easily translated and converted to PDF.

Does that mean the move to dokuwiki was canceled?

Starting with a plain text document is still the most efficient use of effort in my opinion.
That can then be expanded on using markup, markdown, restructuredText...

OK, no problem with just text and not in PDF. I write the tool description in OpenOffice and can easily send the plain text without any image.
As for the wiki, I ask myself two questions:
1-do I publish as I go along, at the moment I have done Lines, Circles, Arcs and Ellipses. Waiting until, hopefully, I went through the whole set of tools may take a while, especially as I struggle with the Polylines.
2-With the poor experience I had with Git, I wonder if I will be able to handle the Wiki bit

Communication is the key to prevent overlapping work.
You might state in the wiki article's discussion page that
you could use help with the polylines section.
Then someone else can state that they will work on it.

You can press the edit button on any existing wiki articles to look at the wiki markup.
The main page has a Wiki Help section with all the links you will need.

Sometimes last week I filled the form to request an account on the wiki then confirmed my mail address but, so far, nothing came back.

I'm out for a job and have very limited resources here.

But I'm afraid that this is not possible with our outdated wiki installation.

Maybe I'll find a solution at the weekend or you can register a new account.

Hi, I do not know if I am the right man for you to get help from. However, I am retired from Architecture and the Work-place, and currently seeking an Autocad style cad system to express my building ideas.
Your system looks good but lacking in a few things that would fulfil my requirements, but again, Linux is the way forward and Community is something that I am most interested in, so your methodology seems like a good foundation for what I do.
Perhaps you would be interested in taking this further, if so I would be happy to chat through any ideas you may wish to develop.

We just need plain text descriptions...
i.e. What does the tool do?
Don't add icons, commands or procedure.
That will possibly come later.

New to LC, Armin has created my account for LCwiki (Felix Ho). Cyjo is committed to the tool descriptions, simply want to offer me help also.
Have started looking at LC source code, would be happy for anything -reasonably- code/coding-related (or what else needs doing).

The only work that I know of is the PDF by Christian above.
Feel free to make small edits... one tool at a time if you like.
