v2.2.1 Released

Happy new year!

After a few last minute changes (CI and some warning cleanup), v2.2.1 was tagged.

Please help testing the official builds, and say 'thank you' to our community, who help make the development possible and useful.

Thank you very much for your work, it is a real luxury that there are people like you who work selflessly so that we can all enjoy this great program.

Major.Minor.Patch - Such a great effort from so many developers in the community and @dxli for taking the lead. Much appreciated!

Thanks for making a new version of LibreCAD possible, you should update the version available for download on SourceForge, also post a new blog entry announcing the release of version 2.2.1.

On Wikipedia, it is said :

As on 2024, LibreCAD development split into 3 branches:

    2.2.0.x — actual LTS release with bug fixes updates;
    2.2.1_rc — release candidate for the next release, with new features and code cleanup;
    2.2.2_alpha — alpha version of the future release, with many new experimental feature, not for regular use yet.

I guess that 2.2.0.x is not a LTS anymore. Therefore, I will remove this section as it is deprecated information (just tell me if you disagree).

Keep up the good work ! :-)

Now at last, long awaited, with many new features that have been missing. I can delete the rc versions I have accumulated now.

We tend to deprecate sourceforge in our workflow, and keeping a unique official site on releases is good I long run.

BTW, kermitdafrog8 identified a cmake issue of the 2.2.1 release. The issue is fixed in the 2.2.1 branch, but since it's a cmake only issue and trivial to patch, I feel there is no need to release 2.2.1.1 in the near term.

Some issues are being actively worked on in the 2.2.2 branch, so 2.2.1 may receive backports though.
