what are the filenames with #, ##, ### in front of them?

Noticed that I end up with multiple files with one or more # symbols ahead of the file name. Where are these coming from and what's the purpose? Thanks.

I think I've figured this out. The # files are autosaved versions of the original, and if I later open the autosaved version to work on, it autosaves and adds another # ?

So....if I'm working in ##filename.dxf and I save my work, are the changes saved back to the original filename.dxf?

I don't know what will happen. If you find out please report.

I tested this and the answer is NO.  The original file is not updated when a hashtag (#) file is edited and saved.  And, when editing the original file the hashtag version will not be updated.  It will be deleted or a new version (##), (###) etc. will be created.
