The changes in 2.2.2 are just too experimental for a release candidate. We just started to fix some newly introduced crashes in 2.2.2 and likely more serious issues not exposed yet.
For 2.2.1, the last blocker is the windows build crashing at startup.
That being said, we can evaluate specific features, and figure out a safe way to back port, if impact would be limited to those features.

For 2.2.1 rc a feature freeze has been declared. Absolutely?
In 2.2.2 alpha surprisingly two fantastic new features have been introduced, Dimension - Baseline and - Continue. They work perfectly, no issues with them it seems. These two features make LibreCAD much more feature complete and attractive especially for architecture and construction users.
It would be a pity if they were not included in 2.2.1 final, given they exist and considering the probably long time until 2.2.2 final.
Worth the effort even if it means further delay of 2.2.1 release.
