Re: New user, crash on startup (Mac), advice?

Hi Bob,

Please upload a crash report to help us resolve this issue, and any crashing and potential data loss issues should be fixed at the highest priority.

We do know our OS/X packaging is not stable enough, as we currently have no OS/X developer on board. Help is needed.

One work around for this packaging issue is to build LibreCAD from source, because the crashes are caused by packaging only.

BobCollins wrote
I downloaded v2.0.2 for OS X Lion, clicked on it, and it crashes immediately. This is consistent behavior.

I am using a MBP with OS X 10.7.5

Questions:

1) Why are there different versions of LibreCAD for different versions of OS X?

2) As this release is broken for me, what is the recommended next step? Should I try an older version? If so, which one?

Thanks,

Bob

another thought:

we would like to have LibreCAD be included in MacPorts. Again, we need help here.

can you enable debugging, or run LibreCAD in gdb to provide debugging info

JP,

We have disabled building of LibreCAD 2.0.x branch for older versions of OS-X due to LibreCAD needing C++11 which is not (easely) available for OSX versions < 10.9

Dli,
we might want to discuss this situation and see what we can do about it.

If we can figure out a way to use gcc >= 4.6 instead of clang

we may have to modify the gcc CXXFLAGS from -std=c++11 to -std=c++0x

Dli,

I have a 10.7 installation again and see if I can modify our post port to make this modification.
Hopefully over the weekend I will know a bit more.
