open a dwg file

Vincent FAVRE
hello,

I have just downloaded the software and tried to open a dwg file from an autocad source.

But libreCAD does not want to open my file: it says "experimental, save your work first. Continue?"

And then, after I have accepted, it returns to me "can not open the file; please check its existence and permission".

Someone could help me?

Hello,

Did you installed the last 2.2.rc2 version ? The support of DWG format was recenlty improved.
You can check the Help/About menu.

Hello,

Yes I am French. For the benefit of all, we prefer to use English in the forum.

you version is the last official release which is quite old. I suggest to install the last not yet official release but it is stable. You can get the last version for Windows 10 at https://sourceforge.net/projects/librecad/files/Windows/NightlyBuilds/master/
Check the last date for the install program.

Re: open a dwg file

Hello,

OK I understand.

I downloaded as you said the Version : 2.2.0-rc2-7-gc819fed7
Compilateur : GNU GCC 7.3.0
Compilé le : Mar 15 2021
Version de Qt : 5.12.4
Version de Boost : 1.65.1
Système: Windows 10 (10.0)

The same eror message appears first: "experimental, please save your work first, continue?"

And then after ok, the screen is black, but on the right side it is listed  a number of "sheets" like door, concrete, wood, ...

Do I have to do something to make the drawing appear?

Hello again.

As a matter of fact, I had only to zoom the screen up to make my drawing appear.

I am now going to try to understand the software.

I suggest the wiki as a start and the user manual after.
Note that you can find Youtube video tutorials and some are in French.
